Pobal supports partnership approaches to decision-making in order to engage communities in the development process at local level, and promotes co-ordination between communities, State agencies and other stakeholders.
Pobal encourages the piloting of new initiatives and are committed to contributing to policy development through the lessons learnt from the programmes managed on behalf of the Government.
Established in 1992 as Area Development Management, ADM changed its name to Pobal in 2005.
