Following a national Call for Applications in late 2009, 10 organisations were awarded funding under the ERF. A total of €1,661,396 was awarded to the 10 groups. The availability of co-funding was a key requirement for each project and a further €997,617 in co-funding was secured by the 10 projects from a range of public and private sources.

Grant allocations under the ERF currently range from €60,000 to €245,000 and projects vary in duration from 18 months to 3 years.

Funded groups come from across the state and include a mix of seven national and locally based community sector and Non-Governmental Organisations, two Integrated Local Development Companies and one statutory agency.

One further organisation, Monaghan Integrated Development (MID), was funded in 2010 following a local call for applications to support the resettlement of programme refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Co. Monaghan. This project ended in May 2011.
