Once again, Pobal is delighted to join colleagues across the sector to celebrate Charity Trustees’ Week 2020. This year’s series of events and initiatives will take place online in adherence to current public health guidelines, allowing charity trustees to take part from the comfort of their own home or office.
Charity Trustees’ Week is hosted in partnership by the Charities Regulator, Boardmatch Ireland, Carmichael, The Wheel, Volunteer Ireland, Charities Institute Ireland, Pobal and Dóchas. The week aims to celebrate and thank trustees for the key role which they play in the governance and leadership of Ireland’s charities as well as:
- Highlighting the importance of good governance of boards, promoting the need for a thorough knowledge of trustees’ roles and responsibilities, education and upskilling of trustees;
- Highlighting the need for new trustees to come forward and the means by which new trustees can be connected with charities that need trustees;
- Creating a greater understanding and awareness among the public of the role of trustees, and the awareness that trustees are public members.
This year workshops, events, presentations and coffee mornings will take place from Monday, 16th – Friday 20th November 2020.
Dr Deiric Ó’Broin, Chairperson of Pobal and Ms. Anna Shakespeare, CEO of Pobal are delighted to host an online event on Thursday, 19th November which will highlight the ‘Role of the Chairperson’ during a coffee morning session commencing at 8.30am.
