Charity Trustees’ Week 2019, takes place from 11th – 15th November and celebrates the work that charity trustees do. The purpose of the week is to highlight opportunities for people who may be considering becoming a charity trustee and to increase awareness and understanding of what is involved.

Pobal is delighted to join our colleagues from the community and voluntary sector;  including the Charities Regulator, Boardmatch Ireland, The Wheel, Charities Institute Ireland, Volunteer Ireland, Dochas and the Carmichael Centre to coordinate a series of events and initiatives which will take place throughout the week.

Charity Trustees Week is an excellent opportunity to focus on the tremendous work of boards and trustees. Events and initiatives taking place over the week aim to recognise and celebrate the key role which volunteer charity trustees play in the governance and leadership of charities across Ireland. It also seeks to encourage more people to become trustees.

Recently, Pobal spoke with some Charity Trustees who shared their personal experiences with us, highlighted different ways Trustees contribute and offered their advice for anyone considering joining a Board of Directors. Listen to their experiences below:
